GOVERNMENT SECTOR
IBG provides services for electronic check recovery (ECR) of dishonored checks to state and local governmental entities throughout the country. IBG partners with state and local governmental associations to provide its service to their members. These non-profit associations are generally organized for the purpose of coordinating and/or providing services which mutually benefit their member entities and the citizens that they serve. The IBG electronic check recovery program will recover funds from dishonored checks which these governmental entities receive as payment for taxes, fees and other related charges.
IBG assigns representatives to each association that chooses to endorse the IBG ECR program. By enrolling with IBG, a state, county, or municipal revenue collections official transfers the burden of collecting dishonored checks to an independent third party. This eliminates political involvement and negative public relations created when someone writes a bad check to a government office and then a public official has the duty of attempting to collect the check.
It also allows that public official to better utilize, what is in many cases, a limited staff, allowing them to concentrate their efforts to areas of normal responsibility. The governmental entity at that point capitalizes on the professionalism of IBG's proven program to recover its funds efficiently within the authority of approved banking industry procedures.
